Something new with thoughtful branches bundle

Have you ever made something and thought I've never seen that done before?  Yeah,  me too. And then you google it.... hmmm bugger.  Well I  did it again! And then I  searched it and I couldnt find it anywhere,  yippie!

So heres what I did.

I used the 'tree branches' die out of the thinlits die I cut it out in Cherry Cobbler card stock. I then chopped off the trunk and turned it upside down (i was thinking of big hero6 at this point,  you know,  when the little brother was frustrated because what he was making wasn't working how he wanted it), I used the small handheld punch to punch two holes so I could fit the single strand from the new twine through. Then i took another strand and tied the bow. I stamped the sentiment and set it on a backing then was stumped,  i had been usong scraps off my desk and they ran out (booo),  so i grabbed my cherry cobbler marker and my ruler and free handed some 'stitching' as a surround for the card.  Ive showed some of our team and i got the comment that this made it look 'rustic' I love that description!

So once you've made one you always have to make a second.  So the second one o made in pacific point with a little gold ribbon for the string to hang it. This one looks much more elegant than the red because i had plenty of this colour (yay!). So have you seen this set used as a christmas bauble yet?  I love the idea! Gives the set more versatility,  and we all love that....  let me know in comments what you think and which colour is your favourite,  I'd love to hear from you.

Until next time,  stay well and happy crafting. Tamie xx

Crazy Crafters Blog Hop with Wendy Cranford

Hi, so happy you could drop by.  Today I am part of a blog hop with the Crazy Crafters, we are CASEing Wendy Cranford this hop and wowee was it a challenge to choose just one thing.  I was searching through all of Wendys posts and got to one that was close to home. It was an Autism Matters Blog which is important to me because my beautiful daughter has Autism, and to have awareness brought to the condition is very important, not just for those who have ASD but also those who care for and are involved with them on a daily basis so they can understand there is a difference between a Temper Tantrum and a Meltdown and that all of those involved are amazing human beings.  But enough of that, I could talk all day about it.  I also loved this project because it was a watercolour card, something that I love the look of but have never been very good at.  So here's Wendys gorgeous card....

Autism Matters blog hop creation to give to an Autism caretaker. Wendy Cranford

How stunning is that.  I absolutely LOVE it!  Now as seems to be the norm with me I couldn't find what I needed to make this, (watercolor paper) oops.... So I started watching youtube videos to learn how to do it so it didn't look like mine was done by a kindergartner.  Wow there are a lot of different methods.

So I tried it on Whisper White card stock, um fail!  So I put those two aside as a project for another day because they weren't right for this project (no I didn't toss them, I don't chuck when things go wrong, I see it as a challenge for more creativity).

Now on to the solution.  I recalled a great friend of mine Angela (click to go to her blog) saying to me that Shimmer White cardstock works for watercolour, and I had some (winning).  So I got to making.  And I came up with two cards as I tried two different styles that were completely different but totally gorgeous so I couldn't choose which one to feature which means you get to see both.

This first card I did in exact same way as I did with the Whisper White, what a difference!  The shimmer paper is great not only because it allows you to blend the colours but also because the pretty shimmer comes through. The little flower is from the Touches of Texture stamp set, I stamped it in versamark then heat embossed with clear embossing powder. The colours used for this card were Dapper Denim, Bermuda Bay and Tempting Turquoise.  These colours go together famously don't you think.  The stamped panels behind the feature were from the Touches of Texture stamp set also.  The sentiment is from the Thoughtful Branches stamp set (which is only available this month, so if you want to purchase it get in quick) I inked it up in Versamark then in Tempting Turquoise before stamping down and covering in clear embossing powder.
This panel was done a little differently and love the effect.  I will try get a video done to show how I did it and I will add a link in here when I do.  The colours used in this one are Sweet Sugarplum, Peekaboo Peach and Flirty Flamingo and I sure do love the effect they have together.

Here are the completed cards, I hope you like them.  I think what is great about them is they could be used for anyone, the colours make them very versatile.
Be sure to hop around all of the other fabulous creations from the team.  The links are below.   If you have the time leave a  little message for us as we love the input and feedback it really makes our day.

Until next time stay well and Happy Crafting.  Tamie xx

Oops i missed the Dawn Olchefske blog hop

So I was all proud of myself for having my project made well over a week in advance.  But silly me didn't get the post done in time for the blog hop it was intended for with the Crazy Crafters. So instead of scratching it it thought what the heck and am doing the post anyway.  So I hope you enjoy what I decided to make.
I found this adorable little sweet box on Dawn's  blog and decided that it was what I wanted to case (along with a card,  which only after I made it did I realize it was someone elses,  then I did the same thing again lol) anyway I made my version of the box and I hope you like it.
The card stock is Basic Black which I punched with a 1 3/4" punch I scored and folded at the same spacing that Dawn has in her tutorial.  You can't see it in this picture but I put a piece of Kraft Cardstock inside the back so there was a little contrast.  The spotty trim is washi tape from the Affectionately Yours collection. Dawns box had that gorgeous big thick ribbon on her box but I decided I wanted something a little finer, so I used some Linen Thread and the new Black and Copper Metallic Thread.
Now I can hear you thinking I haven't seen the punch for those little sparkly leaves, well that's because it's not a punch.  I made a card (remember me saying earlier I had made a card to go with it) using the Champagne Glimmer Paper (which I have just now realized is retired, oops) which I cut using the Detailed Floral Thinlits Dies.  And yep you guessed it. this is the part that gets cut out, well some of them anyway.  They're super sweet I think.  I popped a little treat bag with some dark choclate coated cranberries inside and folded the flaps over punched two holes with the 1/16" Handheld Circle punch to puch the threads through.  And there you have it, I hope you have enjoyed this post.

Until next time stay well and happy crafting. Tamie xx

Crazy Crafters Team Highlight

Hello and welcome to this weeks Team Highlights.  This week the theme is encouragement.  It is so easy to give encouragement, all it takes is words they are free and so easy to share.  Too often these days people are so quick to pull others down instead of prop them up which is sad.  So I knew I wanted to be a part of this weeks Highlight. If you like my card you can vote for it by clicking on Kylie Bertucci's blog
I love this sentiment out of the new Thankful Thoughts stamp set.  It's nice to see that I'm not the only one who makes up silly nonsense words lol.  This card was super easy to make, all stamping was done with versamark in and embossed with clear embossing powder.  I love the flourish out of the Falling Flowers Stamp Set and the flowers are super pretty too.  The colours used were the new In Colours Sweet Sugarplum, Peekaboo Peach and Flirty Flamingo.  Remember if you would like to vote for my creation Click Here to vote for it

Well I hope you like my project.  Until next time... Stay well and Happy Crafting.  Tamie

August crazy crafters blog hop feat Jennifer Michalski

Welcome to the Crazy Crafters Blog Hop featuring Jennifer.  In this blog we are CASEing Jennifers gorgeous work.
So this is the card I decided to CASE.  Mainly because it's heading up to my little granddaughters second birthday so thought this would suit the occasion splendidly because it's super cute.

To do my case, I have to first up admit I have used a retired set of framelits that could quite easily be substituted with the current Layering Circles Framelits (yep, still on the list lol), moving on.  I used the confetti Hearts Border Punch for the  adorable hearts.  And the stamp set used was the Fairy Celebration (OMG love it!).  The colours used were Bermuda Bay, Melon Mambo and Daffodil Delight.  Now I hear you asking but how did she do that numeral two... well, that was me feeling super clever (yes it happens on occasion), as we didn't have a 2 that was suitable here in the collection *sad face*.  Sooooo, I grabbed the ? and the Z out of the Letters For You stamp set and Voila!  Super cool I know lol.  Now of course you have noticed that this is a shaker card.  So to do this I simply used some acetate sheet that came off a photopolymer Stamp Set I have brought in the past and used some of the new Foam Adhesive Strips. I put in the heart punchies and a teeny bit of Dazzling Diamonds and there is the completed card.

So by the time this post goes live I will be at my little Miss's party.  I hope you love it as much as I'm sure she will.

As with all of the hops I am involved in please be sure to hop on by to all of the other peoples blogs, and if you have the time please leave us a little message, it really makes our day (the full lineup is below so if you get lost just revert back to here.

Until next time stay well and happy crafting. Tamie
